In 1990, a group of highly motivated people and well-experienced in designing CCTV equipments established ERMES ELETTRONICA S.r.l. in Mareno di Piave, a small town near Venice in the Veneto region (Italy).
ERMES designs and produces a complete range of CCTV equipment which includes switchers, matrices, multiplexers, digital recorders and codecs. The ERMES apparatuses enable to set up complex surveillance systems easily and with competitive price.

In 2002 ERMES began to produce high quality housings for CCTV cameras. Our standard housings are made in aluminum and they are compliant with IP67 specifications. In addition, ERMES produces stainless steel housings for marine applications or environments with corrosive atmosphere, as well as air- and water-cooled stainless steel housings for furnaces and high temperature applications.

In 2005, ERMES introduced a new family of audio equipment over LAN (Local Area Network) wich use the LAN to transfer the sounds and to control the entire system. This range of audio apparatuses includes intercoms, emergency call systems, paging systems and public address systems. In addition, ERMES introduced similar equipment with audio/video features.

ERMES developed some systems specially designed to be used in railways, subways and rapid transit field in order to offer a solution over LAN instead of the traditional solution that use analog equipment.
These intercoms, emergency call units, public address systems use last generation DigitalMedia DSP in order to obtain highly reliable systems; you can install these audio and audio/video equipment under the sole condition that a LAN network is available.

In fact the equipment produced by ERMES do not require dedicated LAN: these equipment can use the existing LAN and can work jointly with previously installed systems.
Ermes offer reliable and cheaper solution over LAN with IP protocol in order to solve communications problems in railways, subways and rapid transit:

  • TrainHELP is a surveillance and emergency call system for railway coaches that joints the possibility to archive the pictures coming from surveillance cameras and the ability to start emergency call within the coach or between the coach and the nearest control room (more).

  • CityHELP is an audio/video emergency call system suitable to be used in railway stations that enables people to contact up to four different control rooms according with the type of help that they needs (more).

  • TunnelHELP is a multifunction emergency communication system for railway tunnels that enables to start emergency call (audio/video or audio only from the tunnel to the remote control room and to play emergency announces in the tunnel or from the remote control room or directly from the tunnel.   • SoundLAN is a Public Address system for railway station controlled remotely that enables to play Public Address announces in all the stations from an unique by an operator located in a central control room. (more).
